Freespace2 2.0
The year is 2367. Thirty-two years have passed since the Great War. As Terrans and Vasudans struggle to rebuild their civilizations, civil war erupts in the Polaris system. A rogue Terran admiral declares war against the Vasudans, threatening the stability of the Alliance. Without warning, the Shivans return, and Terrans and Vasudans face annihilation at the hands of their Great War nemesis.

• A single-player campaign with over 30 missions. New scenarios include flying with Vasudan squadrons, piloting advanced stealth fighters, and "painting" targets with TAG (Target Acquisition & Guidance) missiles.
• Command up to eleven squadmates in battle. Order them to defend, attack, disarm or disable your target.
• An in-depth combat system enables players to target and destroy subsystems, disabling engines, defensive turrets, missile batteries, and fighterbays.
• Armed with cutting-edge weaponry, new fighters and bombers hurl the player into complex, fast-paced WWII-style dogfights.
• An innovative and immersive nebula environment changes gameplay dynamics. Impaired visibility, communications, and targeting ability create opportunities for ambush and new combat tactics.
• Up to 12 players can battle in dogfight, team vs. team (8 players max.), and cooperative missions via LAN, TCP/IP, and modem.

Mac OS X Only
Minimum:
• Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later
• PowerPC G4 867 MHz or faster
• 512 MB of memory
• ATI Radeon 7500 or NVIDIA GeForce2 with 32 MB Video RAM
• Original game data files + a minimum of 60 MB of disk space

A good game, like MechWarrior 2 mixed with Descent. the game would crash sometimes on 'Commit' and everytime i died and replayed the game, game speed would keep getting faster and faster... but the worst of all none of the other thrust/strafe buttons worked...BOO. IntelMac 2.4 duocore, 1gigram, OSX 10.5.8. |

SMNMX - I had the same problems. Try some of the troubleshooting options (instructions in the readme file). Great game, but quite unstable. If it was stable, it would definitely get a 5.0, but as it is, it crashes much too much. |

You're strafing a enemy bomber, a friendly Cruiser is at your 12 o'clock, every shot you miss shooting at your enemy will hit your friendly cruiser, suddenly the enemy bomber launches a torpedo at your ship that you engage and try to strafe down. You miss, BOOM your Cruiser is hit down to 20 %, you make a hard turn and keep following the enemy bomber until explosions rock in front of your nose, dozens of them at the same time, your enemy cruiser is sending now a barrage of FLAK onto the enemy Bomber and boooom, he's a goner. A few seconds after an enemy Destroyer launches several torpedos at your friendly cruiser and all you hear is "All friendly units, leave the area, we will be going down, repeat, clear the blast zone, we are going......aahhhhhhh" BOOOOM, the blast zone even killed two enemy fighters nearby, your Cruiser is down but nothing to worry about, three friendly cruisers just warped in, and are returning the barrage to the enemy destroyer.... you get the point.
