Kings and A**holes
Kings and A**holes is a Quake 3 mod designed to give experienced players new challenges and reward beginning players. Each player has a rank and seeks to move up through the hierarchy towards being King. In order to gain a rank opponents of higher rank must be fragged. If you are fragged by an opponent of lower rank you assume their rank. Depending on the number of players, there can be up to four ranks of assholes. The assholes are the lowest ranked players. As an asshole, players automatically get extra firepower and powerups.
Kings and A**holes also includes a unique new feature, autohandicapping. As players spend more and more time as King, they get a progressively larger handicap, balancing play even further. This feature can be disabled by server operators for hardcore gaming, or left on for more casual players.
Because of KA's unique system scoring system, the more experienced players tend to ignore the lower ranked players, and only try to frag each other. So not only do new players get fragged less often, they also get tons of extra firepower, making it easier for them to frag like crazy. All this means more fun for all skill levels. Kings and A**holes is a mod specifically designed for overcrowded online DM servers.
