Game Launcher 1.1.3
Formerly known as Quake3 Launcher, the purpose of this application is to free up as much of your physical memory as possible before loading any game. This version of Game Launcher allows you to store locations of 5 games at once.
One of the authors writes, "Our use for the application was for David's iMac. It has 160MB of ram and when you turn off VM the finder sucks up 44MB of the ram. When we loaded Quake we would run out of free memory and the textures would not show up. With Game Launcher you can free up that extra memory. Once you load Game launcher you can select quit all applications and that will free up as much of your memory as possible. Game Launcher takes up 64k of ram and when the finder is quit thats a lot better than the 44MB it used. With all that extra memory cleared up Quake3 runs perfectly."

There should be more than 5 gameslots however. |
