MacTrek 1.5.0
MacTrek is a free to play open source software cross platform multiplayer hybrid multi-directional shooter and real-time strategy game for up to 16 players. The goal of the game is to capture all the opposing team’s planets. It combines “twitch” style reflexive dogfighting with extensive team play and strategy.
MacTrek is a complete re-implementation of a classic network game known as netrek. The game was a major breakthrough in online gaming and even after three decades has lost little of its addictiveness. The original client that exists for Mac OS X is, in fac,t a cross-platform X11 application that lacks the grace and ease of use that makes the Mac what it is.
