Absolutely incredible game design. So much thought was gone into the levels. Really fun, really interesting. Everything you want from an FPS and lots of new things. Sweet weapons, details here and there you didn't expect. Awesome multi-player maps, capture the flag, arena, etc. This game rocks! Download it! I mean, why not?! It free! I'd pay $30+ for this!

DO NOT DL THIS GAME It's terrible, and IT WON'T LET YOU QUIT! I had to use the power button to manually shut down my system. This game must have been designed by total jerks.

Starting v 2.4 left my system with a black screen and unusable, so that I had to remove the power cord. This is bad. After restart I deleted the folder "~/.nexuiz", and now the game seems to work.

incredible release, the new graphics are amazing and add a newer look to the game. This is infact.... better than ut2004. The only thing keeping this game from being a 5/5 is the poor frames per second caused by graphical bugs and other input problems. My 1.8ghz intel mac with 124mb vram cant seem to handle this game well and its buggy opengl 2.0 settings.

Mac Games Rating Juusti (11/6/2007 - version 2.3)
A refreshing Quake-clone, not sure why everone seems to think UT2K4 defined the genre... The graphics are very smooth and detailed, even if you'd compare it to commercial games. Turning every GFX feature on left me most impressed, but alot of them are only eyecandy and slows down the computer in larger skirmishes. The only minus there would be that it could use a tad more polygons here and there in maps, on weapons and character models. The menu system is since 1.2.1 alot faster but still a bit overrendered. The sound is adequate, you can always tell respawned ammo crates from footsteps and such. The gameplay is just like it was in the original Quake; fastpaced and frantic. There's no sneaking around, you need to have really fast reflexes to dodge and hit your opponents. If you play online in a cityscape map with the Grappling Hook enabled (think Spiderman with rocket launchers) you're in for a good amount of fun. The included documentation covering tips and tricks for playing Quake-likes was a good read too. All in all it's a 4/5. Borderline to 5/5 because of it being free, but would like to see a less cluttered menu system, a wee model revamp and natural outdoor maps.
