Mac Games Rating Zeframe Cochrane (5/25/2004 - version 1.0.1)
I do not really like this Minesweeper clone. A part of it might have to do with the fact that I made my own (iMine), so I am not truely objective, but I simply do not like the user interface of this game and I think it lacks a very important feature: If, for example, you have a 2 field and found two mines, other minesweepers have a key to hold down or something similar to open all surrounding fields. This one hasn't. And, after all, I'm never gonna pay for a Minesweeper.
Mac Games Rating John Nunofyabizness (4/19/2004 - version 1.0)
Very nicely done Minesweeper clone! It has a more refined look to it and nicer sounds compared to Bommo Sweeper X (another top Minesweeper clone). I trust this is chiefly due to ProximityMines being a Cocoa app, whereas BS is Carbon. I'm dinging ProximityMines on my rating solely for the price. At $15, I feel that is too much to ask for, especially when Bommo Sweeper is free. Yes... PM looks a bit nicer than BS, but not $15 nicer, and the gameplay is by no means better.
