This utility provides a graphical front end for BG1Tutu, a shell utility, as well as modifies some of it's output files so to actually make it work. This frontend is completely independent of BG1Tutu so if BG1Tutu is updated you can rerun it with out having to download the assistant again.
BG1Tutu is the macintosh port of a PC utilty by the same name. In a nutshell, this will convert an existing installation of Baldur's Gate or Tales of the Sword Coast to an installation of BG2... Why might one want to do that? Well here's a brief list:
• Play the entire BG saga with one character... including a kit based char started out at level 1
• Play in higher (if unsupported) resolutions
• Level limits removed for BG/ToSC and access to full spell book
• Kitted NPCs for BG1/ToSC
• Take advantage of the stability of BG2's engine relative to the original bg1 and especially of ToSC
• Play BG1 natively on OS X
• Fixes a couple of bugs in the frontend
• Performs a couple of modifications on the Chitin.key relating to relative paths. If you ran BG1Tutu successfully (got a 50%+ conversion) then BG2 Crashed on startup, this should fix it. This version contains a bug fix that crops up when BG or BG2 are on the boot volume of os x
Mac OS X Only
• Mac OS X
• An installation of Baldur's Gate
• An installation of Baldur's Gate II
