Boycott is just lagging behind   Chief Moose (12/20/2003 - version 1.7.1) even if Boycott Advance didn't exist, this is a pretty bad port of a decent emulator. But of course Boycott Advance does exist, so I'd recommend checking that out.   Ed the Monkey (4/20/2003 - version 1.5.1) True, VisualBoyAdvance is slower than Boycott Advance.
