In Black Shades you control a psychic bodyguard, and try to protect the VIP (dressed in white) from a horde of zombies, snipers and other assorted would-be assassins. This was one of the winners of the UDevGame 2002 contest. David Rosen (the creator of the game) aimed for a much simpler graphical style than in GLFighters and Lugaru in order to complete the game within the deadline.
- fixed "quick keys" issue when pressing a key such as b (to turn on infinite slow-mo) would turn off when the key was let off, thus requiring the player to hold that key down for infinite slow-mo
- spaced out text in developer mode, and made cursor on main menu brighter being easier to see
- cleaned up bits and pieces, clearly resulting in performance gains... especially on older machines

Fantastic game, a real gem. Would be nice if graphics were a little nicer, but still profoundly original. Looking forward to future versions.

This game has amazing rag-doll physics are ground breaking. Although it gets a bit repeditive, this is a very memorable game.
Belcarius(4/30/2005 - version 1.1)
This game has better physics than most retail games. If only I could get past that bloody zombie level where all you have is a damn pistol!

Cool death animations!

Nice gameplay. The graphix are so-so but it doesn't take away. I just like killing everything! Put a little more into it and it would be way cool. Only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because you're done in about 30 minutes and then it's... ho hum. Otherwise, very fun!
