What I think of this? Complete RIPOFF of the original game by charging 20$ US for something that was once freeware.

First I'ld just like to say to those people who have complained about the price. Look in the about box of the original Bolo. It cost $25 US, it was NOT free. A far as this Bolo version goes, it is a decent port but still has a way to go. I hope it will continue to improve.

The auto-alignment of your gunsites is lame. What happens if you don't want to hit your own pillbox that is right next to the enemy pillbox? Duh- you lose yours too. What is up with the "dunk" sound when you chop trees? Other sounds are ok. Without the auto-slow down feature its going to take forever to refuel at the base and I don't want to brake all the time. I am sticking to running bolo in classic mode. Sorry bud, but your version doesn't hold up beans.
Mac Games Rating Ithron (7/3/2002 - version 0.0.1)
Quite a few features are missing, especially the ability to use autopilots and choose the game type, but fortunately old maps still work. However, the main problem I have with XBolo is that the way in which the tank turns has been changed - it now rotates smoothly with the target, rather than the target rotating smoothly while the tank rotates to set angles. While this is obviously more realistic, I find it quite a pain, especially for pill takes such as phallus in wonderland for which I often like to have everything aimed up before I move in. Other main differences I noticed quickly were that there is zero delay between dying and reappearing, and that the sounds have been changed to what I believe are ones even more annoying than the originals. It's a fairly decent port and very nice to finally have Bolo running natively under OS X, but unless some of the things I mentioned are added/changed then I'm going to keep running the old Bolo in classic.

It still needs a few features (that i hope the author will add later) but I think people are not realizing that the author never forces you to pay. There is no notice or serial number that you have to type in to make it the full version. Basicly he is asking for a donation though I dont know why he but it as shareware. If he had block edsome part ot the program till you paid that would be another kettle of fish.
