Total waste of time...The patch crashed with an error message "The command exited with a non-zero status. (1)"--which I have absolutely no clue. If they can't fix the problem correctly, they shouldn't have sent the half-fix solution to waste everyone's time. |

I found instructions on how to mess with this thing so it actually works:
http://tech.rufy.com/2006/06/guide-to-installing-myst-v-on-mac-os-x.html
But then it ends up just installing the PPC version anyway! There is NO POINT to this installer, it does not work. You best bet is to run this through Rosetta (slowly) or on Boot Camp if you've got it. Too bad. |

I have downloaded the patch for Myst V and have done exactly what I should have with the installing - but seems like they should have get universal binary patch so we all with Intel Macs and money spent in this game could benefit from playing the game eventually. .... and I believe there is much more of people who would agree with this (went through many forums to try to find help.. no luck).
Great game, a little poor support! |

Mmm...
What we all need here is a universal binary update for intel. Then it would work wonders. This is good only AFTER there is one out, i think.
This thing is useless now, but not until theres gonna be a UB patch, if theres one coming soon.
For now, I play it on PC on Bootcamp. |

I bought Myst V EOA today to run on a Macbook Pro and it failed to launch. It appeared to install OK. An error report was duly sent to Apple. I subsequently discovered the patch and downloaded it. Ater launching it, an AppleScript error was reported but the installer keep on running (Copying Installer ...), and running and running!!! After 3 hours I decided to abort the patch installation and tried again with exactly the same result. I've downloaded a demo version of Myst EOA and it work, sound & vision. However the UBISOFT DVD Rom and its Intel patch don't appear to work. Have I just wasted 35 quid?

It does not work. It does install the game, which will not happen without the patch, but the game aborts immediately. |

I tried it over and over again. The only thing this so-called "updater" does is crashing with an Apple Script error running, for like, forever and, before I forget, sucking badly. Thumbs down, Ubisoft! :-( |
